Privacy policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
Bad Jobu – Good Dad is the storefront brand of Big Daddy's Wood & Stuff Company (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains what personal information we collect at bigdaddysusa.com (the “Site”), on our Facebook and Instagram pages, and when you contact us. It also explains what we do with that information.
The short version: we collect what we need to fill your order, run our contest, and answer your questions. We do not sell your personal information for money.
1. Who this policy covers
We sell to customers in the United States. The Site is run from Texas and is intended for US residents age 18 and older. We do not market to people in other countries. Your information is processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate.
2. Information we collect
- Contact and account details. Your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, and account login, when you give them to us.
- Order details. What you bought, sizes, order history, and any returns.
- Payment details. Our payment processors handle your full card number. We see only limited details, such as the card type and last four digits.
- Contest entries. Your photo, name, city and state, dog's name, and social media handle. If you win, we also collect your mailing address and shirt size.
- Messages. Emails, direct messages, comments, and customer service requests you send us.
- Marketing choices. Whether you signed up for our emails, and whether you opened or clicked them.
- Device and browsing data. Your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, items added to your cart, and the site that referred you. We collect this automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
3. How we use your information
- To process, print, and ship your order, and to send order and shipping updates.
- To answer your questions and handle returns or replacements.
- To run the Real “Bad” Dog of the Month contest. This includes judging entries, contacting and announcing winners, and sending prizes.
- To send marketing emails, only if you signed up for them.
- To keep the Site working, measure what visitors use, and improve it.
- To prevent fraud and protect the Site.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information with companies that help us run the store, and we give them only what they need for the job.
- Shopify hosts our store and checkout. Shopify processes your information when you visit and buy from us. This includes providing services based on your interactions with other Shopify merchants and with Shopify. See Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy.
- Payment processors charge your payment method.
- Apliiq, our print-on-demand partner, receives your name, shipping address, and order details so it can print and ship your shirt.
- Shipping carriers receive your name and address to deliver your order.
- Klaviyo and Shopify provide the tools we use to send emails and manage subscriptions.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) collects information under its own privacy policy when you interact with our pages or enter the contest there.
- Other technology providers help us operate the store, create content, and provide customer support. Some of these are AI-assisted tools.
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not give customer or entrant lists to other companies for their own marketing. Some state laws treat the use of advertising cookies as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, even when no money changes hands. Section 6 explains how to opt out.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
The Site uses cookies, pixels, and tags. They fall into three groups:
- Necessary. These run the cart, checkout, login, and security features. The Site will not work properly without them.
- Analytics. These show us how visitors use the Site.
- Marketing. These come from Shopify. They measure how visitors find us and may be used to show relevant ads.
Shopify publishes a list of the cookies its stores use. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
6. Your choices and rights
- Marketing emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email us.
- Advertising and data sharing. Use the Your privacy choices link in the Site footer, or email us and we will help. Our Site also treats the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out request. You can opt out of Shopify's own use of your data for advertising at Shopify's privacy portal.
- Contest photos. You can ask us to remove a featured photo at any time.
- Access, correction, and deletion. Some states give residents the right to see, correct, delete, or get a copy of their personal information. We offer these rights to every US customer, wherever you live.
To make a request, email HiJobu@bigdaddysusa.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We may ask you to confirm your email address or order number so we know the request is yours. We will respond within 45 days. Someone you authorize in writing may make a request for you.
We will not treat you differently for making a request. Sometimes we must keep certain records, such as order records needed for taxes. If we decline a request, we will tell you why, and you can reply to ask us to reconsider. If you are still not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general.
7. Children
The Site and the contest are for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
If a contest photo includes a child, the entrant must be that child's parent or guardian, or have that person's permission. We may crop people out of a photo before we feature it.
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy.
- Order records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Marketing details: until you unsubscribe.
- Contest entries we do not feature: only as long as needed to run and document that month's contest.
- Featured contest photos: until you ask us to remove them.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and our checkout runs on Shopify's secure platform. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
10. Other sites
The Site links to other sites, including Facebook and Instagram. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new “last updated” date. If a change is significant, we will also post a notice on the Site.
